Description In 1982 Nick and Barbara Kerr visited Israel as a Christian Zionists. While there they met evangelical Palestinian Christians who told them that they could not support Christian Zionism as they felt that it contributed to their oppression. Thus began a search for the truth; biblical, historical, and political. Nick has engaged in comprehensive and in-depth research to discover the ‘true story’. He found that there were many scholars, including evangelicals, who disputed the Christian Zionist interpretation of biblical texts, especially prophecy, and their version of and the significance of particular historical events. Christians have to admit that much antisemitism such as the 19th century pogroms in Russia, originated in so called Christian countries, culminating in the horrendous Holocaust of WW II. Zionism as a solution to antisemitism was created and embraced by many Jews and Christians in Britain and America. Nick discovered little known secret and subversive activities which were carried out by Zionists in America which affected the course of history in connection with American involvement in WW I, and which promoted the Zionist cause. The subsequent Zionist program agreed to by Western powers, however took place at the expense of the Palestinians who became the victims of a misplaced bias in favour of Jews, resulting in the dispossession of the Palestinians during the ‘nakba’ – the catastrophe in 1947/8, and many human rights abuses since.
